We chose three books that bring the reader with escondndo into very distinct journeys. Masters of Silence by Kathy Kacer, published by annickpress. The brother and sister must hide their Jewish identity to pass for orphans being fostered at a convent in the foreign land. Today's reading, once Chester is done with it.
This little book for children not only tells her story, but shows that even a Princess esvondendo her life to help during the War. What many people do not know is that Princess Alice was born completely deaf. In characteristic Kacer style, Masters of Silence is dramatic and engaging, and highlights the courage of both those rescuing and the rescued themselves. I really loved that I got to learn something whilst reading this. I really enjoyed reading this book, it was very educational and taught me something new. But, at certain times, she used her deafness in a different way, like in this particular story, where she "pretends" she can not understand the Nazi officers, ediht they knock at her door because they suspected she was hiding Jewish people in her home.
